چکیده
Figure 1. The fat-suppressed T2-weighted coronal image shows a small partial articular surface tear (arrow) evident at the anterior margin of the infraspinatus insertion. Underlying subchondral cystic changes and reactive marrow edema (arrowhead) are seen within the greater tuberosity. A 22-year-old professional baseball pitcher presents with persistent posterior shoulder pain after throwing. A fat-suppressed T2-weighted oblique coronal image and a gradient echo T2-weighted axial image are provided with relevant fi ndings marked with arrows ( Figures 1 and 2 ). What are the fi ndings? What is your diagnosis?

Dynamic Contrast Magnetic Resonance Imaging (DCE-MRI) and Diffusion Weighted MR Imaging (DWI) for Differentiation between Benign and Malignant Salivary Gland Tumors
Background: Salivary gland tumors form nearly 3% of head and neck tumors. Due to their large histological variety and vicinity to facial nerves, pre-operative diagnosis and differentiation of benign and malignant parotid tumors are a major challenge for radiologists. Objective: The majority of these tumors are benign; however, sometimes they tend to transform into a malignant form. Functional M...
متن کاملAutomatic segmentation of glioma tumors from BraTS 2018 challenge dataset using a 2D U-Net network
Background: Glioma is the most common primary brain tumor, and early detection of tumors is important in the treatment planning for the patient. The precise segmentation of the tumor and intratumoral areas on the MRI by a radiologist is the first step in the diagnosis, which, in addition to the consuming time, can also receive different diagnoses from different physicians. The aim of this study...
متن کاملInfarct Segmentation Challenge on Delayed Enhancement MRI of the Left Ventricle
This paper presents collated results from the Delayed Enhancement MRI (DE-MRI) segmentation challenge at MICCAI 2012. DE-MRI Images from fifteen patients and fifteen pigs were randomly selected from two different imaging centres. Three independent sets of manual segmentations were obtained for each image and included in this study. A ground truth consensus segmentation based on all human rater ...
متن کاملUsing magnetic resonance imaging to quantify the inflammatory response following allergen challenge in allergic rhinitis
Current rhinometric and flow assessments measure nasal patency and are often poorly correlated with rhinitis symptoms. To evaluate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as a new method to measure inflammatory changes in nasal and sinus mucosa following nasal allergen challenge. A pilot study (n = 6) determined the optimal technical settings for MRI to measure inflammatory change which were then adop...
متن کاملTraumatic spinal epidural hematoma: an alarming and diagnostic challenge in the ED
Traumatic spinal epidural hematoma (TSEH) is a neurosurgical emergency which is considered as one of the rare causes of back pain. The onset of symptoms presentation can vary especially following a trauma. Here, we report a case where a young girl had a trivial fall and presented symptoms of back pain three days later. She developed abrupt onset of lower limb weakness during her stay in the eme...
